This unimaginable reality is common in war-torn Yemen. When we discuss the state of Yemen, we are often reminded that the U.N. has labeled it as the worst humanitarian crisis on earth. We recall that 80 percent of all 30 million Yemenis are in need of humanitarian aid. However, we forget that displacement, poverty, and starvation in Yemen are directly caused by the political reality which also starves Yemenis of their rights....

The merger of Warner Bros. and Discovery has already caused chaos elsewhere in Hollywood. One of the biggest stories in the industry this past week was the decision of the newly combined Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav to cancel the upcoming DC superhero film Batgirl. Although the movie was filmed and in the editing and test screening phase, releasing it would have cost tens of millions of dollars in additional marketing costs....

This all started with the release of the 2017 version of Justice League, which wasn’t received well at all by fans or critics. Joss Whedon’s cut of Justice League deterred far from the theme of the previous film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which was a much darker and gritty film. Gone were the emotional scenes, high stakes, and killing in Snyder’s previous DCEU films. These themes were replaced with forced humorous scenes, lighthearted dialogue, and major deviations from the established character personalities, which many fans complained about....
