The all in-game footage trailer gives players a look at the twisted and nightmarish world facing the Celtic warrior Senua on her personal journey throughout the game. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice promises to take players through a world inspired by Norse and Celtic mythology mixed with the hellish underworld formed by Senua’s psychotic manifestations after experiencing personal trauma. Viewers will also get a good look at the gorgeous visuals and life-like facial animations that Ninja Theory is well known for with their previous games.

The trailer also arrives with the announcement that Ninja Theory has enhanced the game for PlayStation 4 Pro players. Upon launching the game, PS4 Pro players have the option of selecting an enhanced resolution or using a higher frame-rate at 60 frames per second. PC players can go a step further using an uncapped frame-rate, 4K resolution, as well as 21:9 ultra widescreen support. Eager players can also now pre-order the game with PS4 players unlocking a dynamic theme and PC players getting an exclusive digital comic short.

What gamers may find interesting about this title is that Ninja Theory was able to keep the overall game price down, yet continue to develop with AAA standards in mind. Thanks to no publisher contract, and a digital-only format which essentially eliminates all disk printing expenses and retail seller payments, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice retains the high production standards fans have come to expect from Ninja Theory at half the price.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is available on August 8 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
