If you didn’t catch it, the people yelled, “Hide your phones!” in the direction of Russell. The young Lakers guard must have heard them because he turned around and appeared to say, “Eat a d—,” to the hecklers before entering the arena.
Russell was caught up in a firestorm last season after a video of him recording Nick Young went viral. In the video, Young discussed having relationships with women that weren’t his fiancée Iggy Azalea, and eventually the wedding was called off and the couple broke up.
The video reportedly caused tension in the Lakers’ locker room and damaged the relationship between Russell and Young. It also appears to have damaged his relationship with the fanbase, as hecklers yelling “Hide your phones!” will have to be something Russell deals with on a regular basis.
